Bus Stops are the interfaces between ATS Bus and the outside world. Bus Stops translate data into B2MML before putting it onto the bus. Other Bus Stops that require that data can then read it and translate it into the appropriate format before sending it to the appropriate recipient.
Workcenter Bus Stops allow data to be exchanged with equipment on the factory floor and with other ATS software. The Workcenter bus stop will listen out for messages on the Bus that correspond to the message type, operations and equipment that it's set up for. When it sees an appropriate message it passes the relevant information down to the equipment or software. In reverse it will convert data it receives from the equipment and software and send it onto the bus.
MES Bus Stops receive order information from the MES via XML and ActiveMQ channels which it then translates and sends onto the Bus. In return it can read production data from the Bus which it translates and sends back to the MES.
Archive Bus Stops can be configured to look for messages with specific types for specific operations. The messages are recorded in a separate Archive database which can then be referenced for historical data. This data can also be used by ATS ARS to generate production and quality reports.
