You may want to alter the leader line to avoid an object or to change its appearance, by adding kinks to it. To create kinks in the leader line:
1. Create two annotation and a leader line which points from one annotation to the other.
2. Lock the annotation the leader line is pointing towards. To do this:
a. Right click on the annotation the leader points towards.
b. Hover over " Misc Operations" on the menu.
c. Click Lock.
3. Select the Edit Leader 
tool.
4. While holding down the shift key, click inside the terminator of the leader and drag the edit leader tool.
