Variable Parameters

[Parameters]

Date and TIme

Format commands can be used in conjunction with the display of any date variables, such as ~date~, and ~time~.

  • Letters are case sensitive

  • Format commands can be combined

The ~date~ variable can also be added to the ~samp~ variable to display date and time information for a Sample. For example, you could use the variable ~samp, date,%c~ to display the create date and time of a Sample, formatted according to your computer's locale settings.

The default format for any date and time strings is the locale settings on your computer. However, you may use the date/time parameters in a way that allows you to show formats different that your default settings. For example, if the date was March 14, 2002, ~samp, date,% d-%b-%Y~ would resolve to "14-MAR-2002". If the time were 08:12:59, ~samp, date,% M past % H~ would resolve to "12 past 08".
