Running Data Archiver requires the Data Archiver privilege assigned in Site Manager, given to only a few users. Please refer to the Site Manager Help Documentation for further details regarding the Data Archiver privilege.
Before using Data Archiver, certain attributes may need to be set on samples and routines. If you choose the Before Date Archive Type, Data Archiver will simply determine which sample to archive by using the Create Date on each sample. If you choose the Expired Samples Archive Type, Data Archiver will use the Archive Method set on each sample. Along with the Archive Method, each sample needs to have either the Archive Date or Archive Number of Days. If you choose the Excess Samples Archive Type, Data Archiver will use the Max Samples value set on the routine that owns the sample(s). These routine and sample values may be set using Associations in DataSmith or by editing the routines and samples in DataUtility.
Data Archiver can be run interactively (using the Interface window), or remotely using Command Line Parameters.
