DataSet Compare is a side-by-side comparison of the loaded Routines and Features of two selected DataSets in a CM4D document. It provides reason for why each feature funds a match or not in the other DataSet.
DataSets connected to an unloaded Query will be loaded when the Compare button is clicked.
To use the compare function:
Select a DataSet label from the Query 1 dropdown.
Select the DataSet you want to compare the first one to from the Query 2 dropdown.
Click Compare. Your results will appear in the dialog.
When you are through comparing your queries, click the Done button to return to your CM4D document.
Each feature row has a Reason listed in the center column to explain why CM4D determined the two features were a valid match. The Reasons are listed in the order in which CM4D checks to see if the features qualify for comparison.
Label - the two Features have Feature Labels that are an exact match
XYZ - the two Features have identical XYZ nominal measurements
Mirror - the two Features are an exact match except for the Y nominal value, of which one is the negative value of the other (and so is a Mirror point)
Alias - the two Features have the same Alias value. This only compares Alias, not Alias2, Alias 3 or Alias 4.
Unmatched - the two Features are not a match in any of the four previous categories, so CM4D has determined they are Unmatched. If a feature does not match any features in the other DataSet, empty cells will appear on the opposite side of the row.
Reasons are also indicated by a highlight color applied to the Feature label.
