Reference Guide - Install ATS Security Manager (for CM4D)

This guide contains the general steps for installing ATS Security and Configuration Manager, which is a pre-requisite to installing the CM4D Configuration plugin.  

  1. Run the ATS Security and Configuration Manager installer executable (as Administrator).
  2. License Agreement - Accept the terms of the license agreement.
  3. Installation Folder - Set the installation folder for ATS Security and Configuration. The default installation folder is C:\Program Files\Applied Tech Systems\ATS Configuration Manager\. To change the install folder, click Browse.
  4. ATS Security Database - Provide the connection information for the ATS Security and Configuration database. The user entered here must have access to the database.
    1. Server - The machine name of the server hosting the Security and Configuration database. Use the Server Name, or leave the default (local) if installing on the local machine. The default (local) is automatically resolved to the computer name in the installed configuration files.
    2. Database Credentials - Enter the user credentials to access the database. This user must have a sufficient privilege level to create and modify databases.
      1. To use the current Windows user account, leave the Trusted Connection box checked.
      2. To use a SQL login, uncheck the Trusted Connection box and enter a username and password.
    3. Database - Choose a database.
      1. To allow a new database to be created by the installer, enter a unique name. This database is created entirely by the installer, including the database object, tables and procedures.
      2. To choose an existing database, click the ellipses button and select a database from the dropdown menu.
    4. Test SQL Connection - Click to check that the information entered is valid before continuing on with the installation.
  5. Enter the database connection information. This does not have to be the same as the database user entered in the previous page. This user must have a sufficient privilege level to create and modify databases.
    1. Username - Enter a username for the SQL login account.
    2. Password - Enter a password for the SQL login account.
  6. Provide the service endpoint details.
    1. Server Name - Enter the Server Name of the machine hosting the ATS Security and Configuration Manager.
    2. Port (Security Manager) - The default port for the ATS Security service is 5000. To change the port, enter a new port number.
    3. Port (Configuration Manager) - The default port for the ATS Configuration service is 4200. To change the port, enter a new port number.
  7. SSL Certificate - Check the box and enter the required information.
