Recurring Defects

Recurring defects are used when an inspector wishes to copy the same defect, in the same location, on the same component, to the next "x" units of the same product.

For example, a user is inspecting both left and right headlights and discovers that there is the same defect on 3 consecutive left headlights.

The user enters the defect on the first unit where they found the defect. For this example the unit number is 0311.

The Defect screen appears.

The user enters the concern details.

The user then enters a 2 for the quantity in the Recurring Qty field. This will apply the same defect to the next two units of the same product.

Click Save Defect.

The defect will be applied as follows:

Unit Product Defect  applied?
0311

Left Headlight

0312

Right Headlight

0313

0314

0316 Left Headlight

If you apply a recurring defect to a unit in the middle of the queue it will still apply the defect to the units directly after it in the queue, not to new units that have just been added.

To view a details of recurring defects for a part, the Manage Recurring Defects control must be added to the Main form in Form Composer.  For further information on the control, please click here
