In CM4D, measurement data within a Routine or a Subroutine is dynamically associated with a CAD product model. Image files may be loaded into a CM4D document in two places: the Routine Properties (or Subroutine Properties) Image tab or the Document Images tab in the Tree Bar.
When images are loaded into a CM4D document, they are loaded in the background. This means that if a large image is being loaded (requiring a longer load time), you may continue to make changes to your document while the image is yet being loaded. The image below represents what would be seen in the View display when an image is being loaded. The wire box illustrates the "bounding box" or the outermost sides of the image being loaded. While loading an image, you may modify the View properties, rotate, zoom, or translate the image, attach annotation by leaders, and any other normal function of CM4D.
If you remove an image from a Routine or from the Document Images tab while it is still loading, CM4D will immediately stop loading and it will discard the image that is no longer needed.
3D image models are displayed in CM4D using OpenGL. 3D Image views may be edited and manipulated using the 3D tools available in the OpenGL toolbar. The following are compatible 3D image types which may be loaded directly into CM4D as images in a View:
· *.wrl - Generated using a CAD system.
· *.jt - Specific image file type which must be enabled using a special CM4D installer and a code from your JT provider in the CM4D.ini file. See the topic CM4D.ini for more information.
2D images may be assigned as DataSource Images. The following are compatible 2D image types which may be loaded directly into a View as either DataSource Images or Document Images:
· JPG/JPEG
· PNG
· GIF
· TIFF
· RGB
· PIC
· TGA
2D Images will always be displayed as Zoom Max and cannot be manipulated using the 3D Toolbar.
