Scheduler

CM4D Scheduler is now a true Windows Service.

The Scheduler Service may be run as a single user.

Multiple users may run jobs as needed using one user's service.

The Service and the Client can be on the same computer or different computers.

What does this mean?

CM4D Scheduler now runs as a true Windows service. Prior to this version, Scheduler relied on CM4D Automation, which caused bottlenecks that hindered the performance of the entire process. By eliminating the CM4D Automation, CM4D Scheduler is now capable of handling high volumes of jobs much more effectively without requiring the number of dedicated servers as before.

Will I need a full Installation to upgrade?

Yes. The full installation will install all required registry settings and all supporting files needed for the new version of CM4D Scheduler to run properly.

What do I need to change in my settings to make this work?

The installation will take care of most of the required setup. However, you can determine who your Service Users will be and who your Job Users will be and setup your services accordingly, or you may simply run Scheduler as you have had it set up prior to this version.

Do I need to have a Site Database?

Yes, a Site database is required for running Scheduler.

What Site privileges do I need?

Scheduler Manager will allow you to run Scheduler Manager and schedule jobs for yourself and other users.

Scheduler Jobs will allow you to be a Job User or Service User.

How do I know which log file to look at?

Please refer to the topic Scheduler Folders for more information on Logging.

What is CM4D Launcher?

The mechanism that has replaced the CM4D Automation aspect of Scheduler. This service actually launches the instance of CM4D needed to print Scheduler reports.

Do I still need Scheduler Timer and QManager?

No. All the required applications are included in the installation: CM4D Scheduler Manager will run using the CM4D Scheduler and CM4D Launcher Services.
