The ATS CM4D suite of applications that allow you to manage, analyze, and report on your Product Quality Validation Data.
| The difference between "As Designed" and "As Built" |
The key to solving any variation issues lies in the ability to visualize and analyze measurement data as quickly as it comes in. With ATS CM4D, measurement data is dynamically associated with a CAD product model, processed by a powerful analysis engine, and formatted into reports featuring various charts and graphs for easy understanding and problem solving. With nearly infinite customization possibilities, ATS CM4D can report your data in a multitude of formats, with automatic database population and retrieval.
ATS CM4D is designed to work with any dimensional data, whether it's Variation Simulation Results, Perceptron, SMX, LaserTracker, LMI, Romer, LK, Brown and Sharpe, or Faro. DataSmith is a universal translator that collects and stores your dimensional data in a relational database to allow quick and easy access for reporting and analysis.
There are different licensing models available within the ATS CM4D suite, but at any level, CM4D provides the same core functionality of data reporting and analysis.

CM4D Web Applications
ATS CM4D Server is the highest level of the ATS CM4D suite, with automated Product Quality Validation for the manufacturing enterprise. ATS CM4D Server allows for the gathering of dimensional data from any and all collection devices (including supplier data); processing, analyzing, and formatting the data into effective reports, and delivering crucial information for solving and preventing build problems.

ATS CM4D Peruse is a web application that allows quality engineers to view and analyze data in an interactive 3D viewer. The 3D viewer is augmented with various reporting controls, such as grids and charts and provides statistical analysis for basic shop floor SPC. The database is populated with Results generated by the ATS CM4D desktop applications.

ATS CM4D Upload Portal is a web application which allows users in your group to submit data files for processing into a CM4D database. The main purpose of having a web based portal is to allow external sources, such as vendors or suppliers, to submit their data into your system for reporting and analysis without giving them access to your private network. The upload portal uses DataSmith as a web-hosted service to achieve the same results that you would get using the DataSmith Batch desktop application.

CM4D Classic is the basic mode of CM4D. Here, a developer can build a template which combines the data, 3D model, and required statistical analysis into an easy to use view. Templates can also be registered for web use, scheduled printing, or analyzing data automatically when DataSmith loads each sample. Ordinary users can open existing templates and view data.
Interactive mode uses one special template customized for each company. The interface allows you to select any available data and manipulate it easily to generate the analysis required. In this way, template development time is saved while giving you the maximum ability to analyze your samples.
CM4D Web allows you to select pages from predefined reports, set up a query, and request a PDF showing the latest data. You can also export raw data in a number or formats for use in other analysis programs. CM4D Web only requires that a computer has a recent version of Internet Explorer and Acrobat PDF Reader.
CM4D Workcell allows you to view Sample output from a collection device in near-real-time using CM4D Interactive reports. You can see the results of the measurement, generate alarms based on triggered events in the report, and then choose to accept or reject the measurement before it is saved to the database.
Data Archiver will automatically or manually move data that is marked as "ready for archive" out of the Database and into a series of export files. The export files can always be restored to the Database at a later date using DataSmith. Typically, the archived files are then removed to a permanent backup, such as a tape or DVD.
DataSmith is the tool that will put your raw data into the ATS CM4D database. You will need to configure DataSmith to translate your data formats. A translator configuration is neither part-specific, nor feature-specific - it is format-specific. Any parts that share the same format can be processed by the same translator. Any new features added to a measurement routine will be processed by the translator as long as the feature data is formatted appropriately.
The Batch Manager allows an administrator to set up the parameters for the Batch mode of DataSmith for loading data. Typically, setup tells the system where to look for files and how often, which files to load, which translators to use, and what to do with the data files afterwards.
In Batch mode, DataSmith continually scans for new data files, applies the correct translator for the data, loads the appropriate information into the Database, and moves raw data files to an archive.
DataUtility is available to CM4D administrators. It allows manual changes to be made to routine nominal information. It also allows samples to be managed and, if necessary, removed from the Database.
The DbConnect program allows a user with the necessary privileges to define the local Database usage and connections that are available. The connection information is then encrypted and stored on a local file for use by other CM4D programs.
EventSmith allows you to set up a monitor for any routine. When data is loaded, DataSmith generates an event. The CM4D service will then load an appropriate template to analyze and print a PDF if there is an alarm. EventSmith will then e-mail the PDF to any users who have asked to monitor that routine.
Scheduler Manager allows an administrator to set up timed printing of reports. It is also used to decide which templates will be used to generate the reports printed by the Event system. There are two related services, CM4D Scheduler and CM4D Launcher, that must be active on the server to support this function.
Site Manager allows the CM4D administrator to look after the overall setup of CM4D. This includes User ID setup and access privileges, registration of valid Databases, and user groups.
