Models and Images in CM4D
Measurement data is dynamically associated with a CAD product model. Image files may be loaded into a CM4D document in two places: the Routine Properties (or Subroutine Properties) Image tab or the Document Images tab in the Tree Bar.
3D Images
3D images are directly supported in CM4D using the HOOPS 3D engine. 3D Image views may be edited and manipulated using the available in the toolbar.

2D Images
2D images may be assigned as DataSource Images. 2D Images will always be displayed as Zoom Max and cannot be manipulated using the 3D toolbar. The following are compatible 2D image types which may be loaded directly into a View as either DataSource Images or Document Images:
- JPG/JPEG
- PNG
- GIF
- TIFF
- RGB
- PIC
- TGA
Images and Leader Lines
Leader lines are the lines which run from annotation to the point in the View. The type of image you are using will determine the behavior of any leader lines that may be defined.

2D Leader Lines
2D images do not contain the information necessary for CM4D to find where a leader line is supposed to point. Instead, you can manually (either using the Edit Leader tool or through the Annot Properties dialog) point the leader to a position on the sheet. However, if you move the view, or the image changes, the leader line will remain pointed to the original position on the sheet.
