The following is a summary of the steps that must be completed in order to successfully upgrade ATS CM4D from v20 to v21.

For more information and detail on each of these steps, please refer to the full v21 Migration Guide here.

Step 1: Pre-Upgrade Preparations

Before you upgrade to v21, there are some mandatory steps that must be completed before running a full system upgrade to v21.

If your system is not on CM4D v20.3 or newer, follow the standard upgrade path to get your current system to Schema 20b-20b.

Request new CM4D Licenses for v21.

Backup your system, particularly Managed Documents.

Run the Pre-Migration Analysis tool on a database that is Schema 20b-20b - BEFORE upgrade to v21.

Unzip the v21PreMigrator folder.

Copy your Cm4d.4ds file to the v21PreMigrator folder.

Run v21PreMigrator.exe.

Set the Migration Export Path.

Click Analyze.

Edit the Managed Documents map file.

Set the User.

Set the Priority.

Set the Report Tag Source.

Edit the Report Paths map file.

Set the Depository Path.

Set the Depository Name.

Click Re-Analyze in the v21PreMigrator.

If no errors, exit v21PreMigrator Analysis tool.

Step 2: Upgrade Your System

Once you are sure that all settings in your map files are Valid and no errors were returned when analyzed by the v21PreMigrator Analysis tool, continue on to the full system upgrade to CM4D v21.

Upgrade ATS Licensing from 2.0 to 2.1.

Upgrade CM4D Installation from v20 to v21.2.0.

Upgrade Databases from Schema 20b-20b to 21a-21b.

Start Services.

Step 3: Execute the Migration

Once your system has been upgraded to v21, open SiteManager to execute the Migration.

Run SiteManager.

Complete Migration via the Migrate S21 dialog.

Select the Migration Export Path

Stage 1: Initialize Migration

Stage 2: Activate Migration

Stage 3: Post Migrate Cleanup

Exit the Migrate S21 dialog.

Exit SiteManager.
