This is a mobile application, designed for PDAs with a built-in barcode scanner, used to collect repair information by personnel performing repairs online.
If a repair area does not have a Data Collect repair terminal, travel tickets can be printed from the original Data Collect inspection station to travel with the part.
The online repair person can then scan the barcode (or enter it manually) relating to each defect as he repairs them.
Once repairs have been carried out they can be evaluated to confirm whether they meet the required standards. This confirmation or buy-off can be recorded by roving personnel using the same handheld devices.
The operator can scan the same barcode for the defect (or enter it manually) and confirm that the repair has been carried out correctly. Alternatively, the barcode at the top of the travel ticket can be scanned and all of the repairs can be confirmed at once.
In order to carry out repairs using the mobile device the following steps must be performed.
1. Create the Mobile Repair station in Cockpit (see here).
2. Create the travel tickets in Cockpit (see here).
3. Install Mobile Repair on the mobile device (see here).
4. Log into Mobile Repair on the mobile device (see here).
