Identifying Units

Inspect supports different ways to identify a specific product. Identities let an assembly plant link more than one identifier to a specific unit. Among the supported identifications are the following:

Lot Number – Each unit can be identified with a unique lot identifier.

Serial Number – Each unit can be identified with a unique serial number identifier.

Identity # 1, #2, #3 – Each unit can be identified with up to three internal identifiers, such as a rotation number or a manufacturing process identifier.

The process of Station setup makes extensive use of Identities – some Inspect reports also use Identities.

ATS ARS displays the Identities in the order shown above. If the Administrator changes the name of Identity #1 to Rotation # then Rotation # will be shown as the third report parameter.
