Data Collect can be configured to preload a stations setup and to cache images. The use of these options can greatly improve load times and reduce network load with the latter being especially beneficial to customers that utilise wireless networks.
Preload setup on start
A Stations setup including the view, raster images and vector images can be pre-loaded at start up:
Load ATS Cockpit and select the Plants tab.
Select the Stations button.
In the Stations pane, to the right of the window, either double click the station to edit, or select the station and press the edit (
) icon.
Select the Properties tab.
Locate Preload setup on start under the Run/Start Options menu.
The following options can be selected by placing a tick in each checkbox:
Select All
PreloadViews
PreloadRasterImages
PreloadVectorImages
A combination of PreloadViews, PreloadRasterImages and PreloadVectorImages can be selected. If all options are required, simply choose Select All.
Cache images to local disk
This option can be used in conjunction with the Preload setup on start option or separately. Once selected, Data Collect will cache all images it retrieves from the Data Service and store them in the users temp folder. For example, C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp\ATS_Inspect:
Load ATS Cockpit and select the Plants tab.
Select the Stations button.
In the Stations pane, to the right of the window, either double click the station to edit, or select the station and press the edit () icon.
Select the Properties tab.
Locate Cache images to local disk under the Run/Start Options menu.
Place a tick in the checkbox to turn enable Data Collect to cache images.
