Recipients and Triggers

When a trigger is activated specified recipients will receive the event report. A single recipient can be assigned several forms of contact. A single report may even be sent to several different people. When a message needs to be sent to the recipient it will be sent using every contact method specified.

Adding a Recipient

Select the Services tab.

Click Recipients.

The Event Recipients window opens. The top-left pane lists the recipients, the top-right pane lists the outputs associated to the selected recipient and the bottom pane lists the scripts associated to the selected recipient.

Click the Add button ().

The Create Event Recipient popup opens.

In the Description field enter the recipient name. This is the name that will display in the Recipient list.

Select the Language that the recipient uses.

Enter any required Comments (optional).

Ensure the Active checkbox is enabled.

The Active option can be disabled if someone needs to be removed from the delivery list temporarily. This prevents having to delete and re-add recipients in this situation.

Adding Outputs to the Recipient

Click the Add button () at the bottom of the Outputs pane.

The Event Recipient Output Wizard opens.

Click Next.

Select the output instance you wish to use.

Click Next.

The next step depends on how you wish to communicate with the recipient.

Enter the required information.

ATS Bus

No additional information required.

MQ Services Device

Queue Manager

Enter the Queue Manager to use.  For further information, please click here.
 

Channel

This should be in the form channel-name/transport-type/connection-name.

 

Queue

This name must be defined as an input queue by the MQ administrator.

MSMQ Device

Queue

This name must be defined as an input queue by the MSMQ administrator. For example, Machinename/Queue path e.g. “APPSERVER/private$/Inspect”

Actual name of recipient

Email address of recipient

 

Message

This message can be sent as a test by clicking Send Test Email.

Socket Device

Hostname

Hostname to connect to.

 

Port Number

Port number to connect to.

Senders phone number.

  To Phone Number

Recipients phone number.

Voice Message (Twilio) From Phone Number

Senders phone number.

  To Phone Number

Recipients phone number.

WhatsApp (Twilio) From Phone Number

Senders phone number.

  To Phone Number

Recipients phone number.

Click Next.

Enter a Comment. Comments are very important as they are used to distinguish this input from other inputs.

Click Next.

Click Finish.

The recipient is created.

Edit and delete recipients using the and buttons.

Creating a Group and Adding Recipients

After individual recipients have been configured, you can assign individual recipients to a recipient group. Using groups makes it easy to send notifications to many individual recipients at one time.

Select the Services tab.

Click Recipient Groups.

The Recipient Groups window opens. All available recipient outputs are listed in the right-hand pane and recipient groups are listed in the left-hand pane.

Click the Add button ().

The Create Event Recipient Group popup opens.

Enter a Description and Comments for the group.

Ensure the Active checkbox is enabled.

The Active option can be disabled if a group of recipients needs to be removed from the delivery list temporarily. This prevents having to delete and re-add recipients in this situation.

Click OK.

The group is added to the list.

Drag and drop recipient outputs from the right-hand pane on to Groups in the left-hand pane to add them.

Multiple recipient outputs can be added by ticking the checkbox next to the recipient before dragging.
