The expiration date of a license set that has already been imported to the Licensing Server is not extended. Instead, when an extension is requested a new license set is created with the new expiration date. When the expiration date passes for the original license set the new license set will be used instead.
Changes are requested and applied to license sets. They cannot be applied on individual licenses (licensed features) inside a set.
The complete process for extending the expiration date of a license is as follows:
Generate request for the date extension (in Licensing Server Manager).
Send request to ATS in one of the following ways:
Export request to a file and send it to ATS.
Automatically send request through customer site.
Wait for the request to be processed by ATS.
Receive and apply updates in one of the following ways:
Receive update file from ATS and import it.
Automatically apply the updates when working logged in to the customer site.
Open Licensing Server Manager.
Select the License Store tab.
If required, click Expert Mode to show the expiration date buttons.
Click Request New Expiration Date in the Import/Export section.
The Change expiration date dialog opens. Only license sets for which a new expiration date can be requested are shown. Those are Demo, Internal and Leased licenses.
Enable the check-boxes for the license sets you want to modify.
Enter the required expiration date(s) in the Edit Date column.
Click Export Request.
If a request is created before the updates of a previous request have been applied then the previous request will be discarded.
Select a location and filename for the change request.
Click Save (the file is saved with a .trg extension).
Send the license request to [email protected] or upload on the Customer website.
Open Licensing Server Manager.
Select the License Store tab.
If required, click Expert Mode to show the expiration date buttons.
Click Request New Expiration Date in the Customer Website section.
The Change expiration date dialog opens. Only license sets for which a new expiration date can be requested are shown. Those are Demo, Internal and Leased licenses.
Enable the check-boxes for the license sets you want to modify.
Enter the required expiration date(s) in the Edit Date column.
Click Upload Request.
The request is sent to ATS and notifications are sent to the appropriate people to process the request.

ATS will send a file (*.trg) containing the requested updates.
Store the update file (*.trg) locally.
Open Licensing Server Manager.
Select the License Store tab.
Click Import License File.
Locate and select the update file.
Click Open.
Licensing Server Manager indicates whether or not the requested license modifications succeeded.
Open Licensing Server Manager.
Select the License Store tab.
Click Check for Updates.
The Import from Customer site dialog opens. The upper pane contains new license sets (this includes connection and expiration date updates) and the lower pane contains activation request responses.
If required, change the customer using the drop-down list.
Enable the check boxes in the upper-pane of the license set updates to be imported.
Click Process selected.
Licensing Server Manager indicates whether or not the requested license modifications succeeded.
