Creating a Licensing Database

By default, ATS Licensing Manager uses an embedded database to store licensing information. However, it is also possible to use a Microsoft SQL or Oracle database. You can create the new database using Data Transfer Wizard to which you can later connect and use for ATS Licensing.

Below you can find the specific instructions for using Data Transfer Wizard when you want to create an Microsoft SQL or an Oracle licensing database.

Create a Microsoft SQL licensing database

Use the Embedded database as a source database.

Select MSSQL Server option for a destination database.

Provide a valid MSSQL database server and login.

Select an existing MSSQL database which has been created earlier for this purpose. This should be an empty database. Alternatively create a new MSSQL database by clicking New database.

Complete the Data Transfer Wizard steps.

This creates the correct database schema (structure) in the specified MSSQL database which can be used for ATS Licensing Server purposes.

Create an Oracle licensing database

Use the Embedded database as a source database.

Select Oracle option for a destination database.

Provide a valid Oracle host name, SID and port.

Provide a valid Oracle user and password.

Click Connect.

From the Schema drop-down select the appropriate Schema (by default it should be the same as the user provided earlier in step 4).

Complete the Data Transfer Wizard steps.

This creates the correct database schema (structure) in the specified Oracle database which can be used or ATS Licensing Server purposes.
