Parameter configurations are generated by a user for specific reports from the Reports menu. These configurations function are reports with user defined parameters applied. The parameter configuration reports appear in the Reports menu under the "parent" report from which they had been created or saved.
For a parameter configuration you can:
Run the parameter configuration.
Edit parameter values of a saved configuration.
Rename the configuration (report).
Delete the configuration.
Save a parameter configuration as a favorite.
Parameter configurations appear in the Reports menu and can be run in the same fashion as other reports by selecting them from the menu. They open in a tab with the values of the parameters as configured by the user. These values can be changed before a run.
Editing of the parameter configurations means changing the values of the parameters. To do this:
Load the parameter configuration by clicking on it in the Reports menu.
A new tab loads and the stored parameter values are displayed in the Parameters panel. There is an Update report option in the panel which is disabled.
Change parameter values.
The Update report option becomes enabled.
Select the Update report option.
A confirmation pop-up appears asking you to confirm the new parameter values with Save and Cancel options.
Select the Save option.
The pop-up closes and a success notification appears.
When opening the same parameter configuration from the Reports menu the changed values of the parameters applied in step 3 can be viewed.
The parameter configuration can be edited using the same steps when loaded from the Favorites menu as well.
The parameter configurations appear as child nodes of the "parent" report out of which they had been created. They also have a context menu icon on the right.
To rename a parameter configuration:
Click on the context menu icon for a parameter configuration.
The context menu appears with two options: Rename and Delete.
Select the Rename option.
The menu item is transformed into a text box you can edit with a tick mark and X icons on the right of the box.
Edit the name of the configuration in the text box, then select the tick mark icon.
The text box is closed, the name of the parameter configuration in the menu is changed.
To delete a parameter configuration:
Click on the context menu icon for a parameter configuration.
The context menu appears with two options: Rename and Delete.
Select the Delete option.
A confirmation pop-up appears asking you to confirm the deletion with Yes and Cancel options.
Select the Yes option.
The pop-up closes and a the parameter configuration is no longer present in the Reports menu.
The user parameter configurations function as reports and as such they can be marked as favorites.
To mark a parameter configuration as a favorite:
Click on the favorite icon behind the parameter configuration name in the Reports menu.
The favorite icon of the configuration in the Reports menu changes to ( "filled" star icon).
The favorite parameter configuration appears in the Favorites menu (also with a "filled" star behind the parameter configuration name).
When loaded in the report viewer the star icon in the tab header bar is also "filled".
