Several options are available for the users from the login page of ATS Security:
For local users to sign in a correct/existing username and matching valid password must be provided in the login dialog. During sign-in for local users several scenarios might occur:
1. User is successfully signed in (username and password match).
2. User sign in fails (username/password combination is not a match).
3. User account is locked.
4. User is redirected to password change form upon password expiration.
After several failed attempts to sign in providing a wrong password, the user account gets locked (depending on the lockout settings). The user is redirected to the account locked page. The user can try to log in later after the end of the lock duration or only after administrator user unlocks the account in ATS Security.
Passwords for local users can be configured to expire on global level. When password expiration is enabled it is possible to override this policy on user level i.e. to not allow for a specific user account password to expire. When your password has expired:
1. Provide correct username and matching current password in the login page.
2. You are redirected to the Change password form with information that the password has expired and needs to be changed.
3. Provide username, current password, new password and confirm new password. Click Change.
4. After successful password change the Password change confirmation screen appears with a Log in link.
5. Click the Log in link.
6. The ATS Security login page is loaded.
7. Provide your credentials using the new/changed password and click Sign in.
8. You are logged in with the new password.
When a new (local) user is created or the administrator changes the password of an existing local user there is an option to set which enforces the user to change their password upon next login. To be able to do this the user will need to know the current password (the one that has been set by the administrator user when creating the user or changing the user's password).
Login workflow for users that must change password on next login:
1. On the login page provide your user name and correct password.
2. You are redirected to the Change Password page.

6. Click the Log in link.
7. The ATS Security login page is loaded.
8. Provide your credentials using the new/changed password and click Sign in.
