Registration dialog text

 

To get to the User registration settings section:

 

1. Click on the Settings option in the main ATS Security menu.

2. The Settings blade loads with four options in the blade menu: Password options, Lockout options, Customize login page, User registration.

3. Click on the User registration option in the blade menu.

4. The user registration options are loaded with two sections: Self registration policy and Self registration settings.

 

There are Save and Discard options in the top right corner of the Settings blade - User registration tab. These options are disabled. Once you modify something in the tab the Save and Discard options become enabled. Your changes will be lost or ignored in case you close this blade or navigate to another tab without clicking on the Save option.

 

Enable/Disable user self registration

When user self registration is enabled there is a Register link or option available on the ATS Security Login page (login dialog). This means that users that have no account in ATS Security can register with a valid e-mail address and be able to login to ATS Security. When user self registration is disabled there is no Register link or option available on the ATS Security Login page (login dialog). In this case users accounts can only be created by the Administrator or via the enabled (if any) external identity providers.

 

To enable user self registration:

 

1. Check the "Enable self registration" check box.

2. The Self registration settings section becomes "enabled" - the fields can be edited. Also the Save and Discard options become enabled.

3. Click on the Save option.

4. "Settings successfully saved" success notification appears.

 

To disable user self registration:

 

1. Remove the check from the "Enable self registration" check box.

2. The Self registration settings section becomes "disabled" - the fields can not be edited. Also the Save and Discard options become enabled.

3. Click on the Save option.

4. "Settings successfully saved" success notification appears.

When user self registration of users is enabled then the self registration settings are considered when new users register.

To make sure that all self-registered accounts are approved by the Administrator user:

 

1. Check the "Require administrator approval" check-box in the self registration settings area.

2. Click on the Save option.

3. "Settings successfully saved" success notification appears.

 

Automatically approve self-registered users

 

To automatically approve all users that self register:

 

1. Remove the check from the "Require administrator approval" check-box in the self registration settings area.

2. Click on the Save option.

3. "Settings successfully saved" success notification appears.

 

Set default role

To set a role that will be automatically assigned to the new users when they self register:

 

1. Select a role from the Select role select list.

2. Click on the Save option.

3. "Settings successfully saved" success notification appears.

 

No default role for users that self register

To assign no role to users that self register:

 

1. Remove the selected role from the Select role select list by clicking on the X icon in the select list.

2. Click on the Save option.

3. "Settings successfully saved" success notification appears.

 

 

Registration dialog text

The text that appears on the Registration dialog (when user self registration is enabled) can be customized in the following manner:

 

a) hide text

b) show custom text

 

The color, size and other style aspects of this text can be customized. Hyperlinks can be inserted as well.

 

To hide the registration dialog text:

 

1. Remove any text if present in the Registration dialog text editor field.

2. The Save and Discard buttons in the Settings blade - User registration tab become enabled.

3. Click on the Save option.

4. "Settings successfully saved" success notification appears. No text is shown in the Registration dialog on the registration page.

 

To show custom text in the registration dialog:

 

1. Provide and edit the text in the Registration dialog text editor field.

2. The Save and Discard buttons in the Settings blade - User registration tab become enabled.

3. Click on the Save option.

4. "Settings successfully saved" success notification appears. The edited text is shown in the Registration dialog on the registration login page.
