Create local user

Local users have login credentials stored in the ATS Security database. The change and reset password options are available only to local users.

Local users are created through the Add user form blade.

To open the Add user blade:

1. Click on the ADD USER shortcut link in the Security card in ATS Configuration manager home page OR
2. Click on the ADD USER shortcut link in the Users card in ATS Security home page OR
3. Click on the Add button in the top right corner above the Users - All users grid

The shortcuts and the Add button above are only available (visible) when in "edit" mode i.e. logged in with a user that has the EditUsersRoles right.

Create user only

1. Provide Display name.

2. Provide Username. This is used as login in the login form and it must be in e-mail format. The user name needs to be unique.

3. Provide Password.

4. Select whether the user needs to change password on the next login.

5. Click on the Save button.

6. The Add user blade is closed and an appropriate push notification will appear depending on the outcome.

7. A successfully created user will appear in the top position of the Users - All users grid.

Create user with configured Profile

1. Provide Display name, Username and Password and select whether the user needs to change password on the next login.

2. Click on the Not configured link under the Profile section in the Add user blade.

3. The User profile blade is loaded on the right.

4. Provide user profile details and click Save.

5. The Not configured link under the Profile section in the Add user blade becomes Configured.

6. Click on the Save button.

7. The Add user blade is closed and an appropriate push notification will appear depending on the outcome.

8. A successfully created user will appear in the top position of the Users - All users grid.

Create user with assigned Roles

1. Provide Display name, Username and Password and select whether the user needs to change password on the next login.

2. Click on the 0 roles selected link under the Role(s) section in the Add user blade.

3. The Select roles blade is loaded on the right with a list of roles defined in the system and a search box.

4. Find the desired role(s) and check the check-box(es).

5. Click on the Select button.

6. The Select roles blade is closed.  The 0 roles selected link under the Role(s) section in the Add user blade becomes x roles selected where x is the number of roles selected in step 4.

7. Click on the Save button.

8. The Add user blade is closed and an appropriate push notification will appear depending on the outcome.

9. A successfully created user will appear in the top position of the Users - All users grid.

Create external user

External users are created automatically in the ATS Security database upon successful authentication of a user from an external identity provider. For these users no login credentials are stored in the ATS Security database. The change and reset password options are not available for these users.  

Import users

The Import users option provides a way for bulk user creation in the system. The import users option alongside with the users imports also their roles and the associated rights.
