For production use, the computer on which you install or upgrade ATS Configuration Manager should meet or exceed the minimum hardware recommendations. These recommendations are general. Actual system needs for ATS Configuration Manager installations can vary based on many factors, including number of users and activity.
The following minimum hardware requirements apply to all computers running ATS Configuration Manager, including physical hardware and virtual machines (VMs):
| Processor | RAM | Free Disk Space |
| 1.4 GHz 64-bit processor Compatible with x64 instruction set | 4 GB |
4.5 GB (SSD is recommended) |
The Setup program uses about 350MB of space. The application creates log files. The default retention policies limits the total space used for log files not to exceed 4GB.
RAM shown is the minimum recommended for an installation. The installation may function better with more RAM, depending on activity, number of users, and background jobs.
The following Microsoft Windows operating systems are officially supported:
Windows 10 (64-bit editions)
Windows 11 (64-bit editions)
Windows Server 2019 (Full Server, Server Core, or Nano Server)
Windows Server 2022 (Full Server, Server Core, or Nano Server)
Note on Older Windows Server Versions: Windows Server 2016 is currently covered by Microsoft's extended support until January 2027. While it may function, it is not actively tested or officially supported. Users should plan to migrate to Server 2019 or Server 2022.
The following components are required for the application to function correctly.
.NET and C++ Runtimes
.NET Core Installer: The necessary .NET Core components will be automatically installed during the application setup process.
Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015: This is required to be installed manually if the application is being deployed on a system without the full .NET Core installer (e.g., specific legacy environments).
Note on Legacy Windows Systems: Support for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 has been discontinued. These operating systems are not supported, and running the application on them is strongly discouraged due to end-of-life status and security risks.
The application requires a compatible Microsoft SQL Server installation for data storage.

While older versions like SQL Server 2017 may function, they are not actively tested. SQL Server Express editions are not officially supported for production environments.
ATS Configuration Manager, ATS Start and ATS Security Manager each require an available TCP port in order to access them. ATS Configuration Manager defaults to port 4200, ATS Start defaults to port 4400 and ATS Security Manager defaults to port 5000. It is strongly recommend that the ports 4200, 4400 and 5000 are not in use on your system before installing ATS Configuration Manager.
If those ports are not available alternative ports can be specified during installation.
If you are running a firewall on the computer where you will be installing ATS Configuration Manager, then you will need to open 4200, 4400 and 5000 ports for ATS Configuration Manager traffic. If you override these ports during the installation, then the changed ports should be opened.
ATS Configuration Manager operates in all virtualised environments when they are configured with the proper underlying operating system and minimum hardware requirements.
By default, ATS Configuration Manager will install on the system drive where Windows is installed and, in most cases, the system drive is C:\. In this case ATS Configuration Manager will be installed into the following directories:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Applied Tech Systems\ATS Configuration Manager
C:\Program Files\Applied Tech Systems\ATS Configuration Manager
ATS Configuration Manager is Unicode-enabled and compatible with data stored in any language.
The user interface is in English by default but other language packs can be installed easily.
