General CM4D System Troubleshooting

This section includes other troubleshooting options for issues that you may encounter with any of the CM4D applications or a general area within the product suite.

Access

Running any application returns an error:

Access denied in registry! Please contact your systems administrator. MachineID will not be updated. imageimage

Is this the first time running any application, following an upgrade or installation?

Run DbConnect as Administrator.

 

Database

Log file error:

Error(s): Database record set failed to prepare data source load command: Connection   1

{call SchemaVersion(?)}

#:    1 Source: "Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server" Description: "Syntax error or access violation"

Was the error logged after clicking the 'Test Connection' button in DbConnect?

This is a false error message from the Test Connection button and can be ignored.

 

Installer

During installation, an ATS Licensing Management Console error message appears:

Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. imageimage

Did you run either the ATS Licensing Server or ATS CM4D installer?

Check that your system has normal System Updates installed. If your system is not patched, you may be lacking critical Root Certificate updates that are required to validate digitally signed software, downloads, etc. An Internet connection must be available for normal System Updates.

 

Licensing

No application is starting. Log file error:

License Server Unavailable.

Is the Licensing Server name set correctly?

Check the licensing config file (ATSLicensingServer.Client.dll.config) located in the CM4D install folder.

 

Is the Licensing Server available?

Check the network to confirm the machine can connect to the licensing server.

 

Is the Licensing Server service running?

Check the licensing server to confirm the ATS Licensing Service is running.

 

No application is starting. Log file error:

Unlicensed: ATS CM4D / App Name.

Do you have the required license?

Check the Licensing Server Manager for either the required licenses available, or approve requests for license as needed.

 

Log file error: Licensing error:

Unknown License Feature.

 

This is a false error message and can be ignored.
