To access the Lockout options in the User Settings section:
Open the Security card in Configuration.
Click Settings on the menu.
Click the Logout Options tab.
The lockout options are loaded with two sections: Lockout policy and Lockout settings.
Two options, Save and Save and close, are disabled until the contents of the fields are modified.
When clicking the Save option all entered data is saved and the same blade remains open.
When clicking the Save and close option all the entered data is saved, the blade is closed, and the user is redirected to the home page.
Navigating to another tab in the blade without explicitly saving any changes made in the previous tab won’t cause the changes to be lost. However if the X button in the blade header is clicked, the User Settings blade will be closed and any unsaved changes will be lost.
When the user lockout is disabled the remaining lockout settings are disregarded. Users can enter their credentials incorrectly an unlimited number of times and the account will not be locked.
To disable the user lockout:
Check the Disable user lockout check box.
The Lockout settings section is disabled and the fields can not be edited. The Save and Save and close options become enabled.
Click on the Save or Save and close option.
A success notification is displayed.
To enable the user lockout:
Remove the check from the Disable user lockout check box.
The Lockout settings section is enabled and the fields can be edited. The Save and Save and close options become enabled.
Click on the Save or Save and close option.
A success notification is displayed.
The following lockout settings can be configured when user lockout is enabled.
Enter a number in the Maximum failed attempts field to count the number of wrong passwords provided before the user account gets locked.
A value of 1 in this field would result in the user account being locked immediately when the user provides the wrong password.
Click on the Save or Save and close option.
A success notification is displayed.
Select one of the following options:
Select the Lockout never ends radio button to ensure that locked user accounts can only be unlocked by an administrator from the user's grid context option or from the user details blade. When this option is selected the minutes selector field in the Lockout settings section is disabled.
Select the Lockout ends in (minutes) radio button to set the duration of the lockout period after which the account becomes automatically unlocked. Administrators can unlock the account manually. When this option is selected the minutes field in the Lockout settings section is enabled and the desired lockout duration in minutes can be selected.
Click on the Save or Save and close option.
A success notification is displayed.
