How to Configure DataSmith Batch

Getting Started

A Server installation of CM4D and a Server License are required to run DataSmith Batch. Please see your system administrator if you are unsure what type of installation or license you are running.

Required Components Checklist

Check to be sure you have all of the following components before running DataSmith Batch Manager or the DataSmith Batch Service.

·        CM4D Server Installation

·        DataSmith Batch Service

·        DataSmith Batch Service User

·        Server License

·        Accessible Database (Managed or Unmanaged)

·        DataSmith Document (*.4datasmith)

·        Data to be placed into Inbox(es)

Site (Managed) Database or Unmanaged Database?

Using a Site Database when running DataSmith Batch is recommended, since most options are limited when you do not have a Site to assign permissions to users. Consider the following:

...with a Site Database

...without a Site Database

Batch Service User and Batch User can be different users

Batch User must be same user as the user logged on to the DataSmith Batch Service

Batch Users do not have to be a Windows user

Batch User and Service User have to be a Windows user

Can Use Routine Codes

Cannot use Routine Codes

Can trigger Scheduler Jobs

Cannot trigger Scheduler Jobs

Can Trigger EventSmtih events

Cannot trigger EventSmith events
