DataSmith Batch automates the processing of data from your output text files into the CM4D Database.
How to Configure DataSmith Batch
A Server installation of CM4D and a Server License are required to run DataSmith Batch. Please see your system administrator if you are unsure what type of installation or license you are running.
In order for data to be processed successfully, the DataSmith Batch Service needs to be initialized.
Check to be sure you have all of the following components before running DataSmith Batch Manager or the DataSmith Batch Service.
· DataSmith Batch Service User
· Accessible Database (Managed or Unmanaged)
· DataSmith Document (*.4datasmith)
· Data to be placed into Inbox(es)
Using a Site Database when running DataSmith Batch is recommended, since most options are limited when you do not have a Site to assign permissions to users. Consider the following:

Batch Service User and Batch User can be different users |
Batch User must be same user as the user logged on to the DataSmith Batch Service |
Batch Users do not have to be a Windows user |
