Overview

The equipment used in the plant can now be defined. The equipment is split into a hierarchy of 3 levels as follows:

Units can then be further divided into Parts and Sub-Parts although these are only used when assigning the root cause of a downtime.

Once the hierarchy has been defined the rate of production on each unit can be specified for different materials. This can all be done by carrying out the following steps:

1.     Equipment Classes: Define the different types of equipment used in the plant.

2.     Equipment Hierarchy: Create equipment hierarchy.

3.     Design Speed: Define maximum rates of production for each material used on each piece of equipment.
