The checklist feature is used to display a list of questions to an inspector, relating to the features of the product being inspected. The inspector must answer these questions before the unit can be released.
The steps required to create the questions and answers that go together to create a checklist or are assigned to a defect need to be done in a particular order, as follows:
Create static answers (see here).
If needed, create checklist procedures for inclusion, answers or validation (see here).
Create question types (see here).
Create checklist categories (see here).
Create the messages to be shown if the answer given is incorrect (see here).
Create questions:
Create basic questions (question template) (see here).
Create unit questions (see here).
Create defect questions (see here).
Create Checklist Security groups (see here)
Associate the question to a checklist category (see here).
Associate checklist categories to setup steps (see here).
Associate setup to station (see here).
You also need to add a checklist control for Data Collect. See here for further information.
Once a system has been configured it can be difficult to know what will be presented at a specific station for a specific unit.
There is a test functionality within Cockpit that will allow you to:
See which questions will be presented.
Test potential answers to those questions.
For more information see here.
Existing units can have their checklists modified in the following ways:
Add a new question.
Modify an existing question.
Reset answer on question that has already been answered.
For more information see here.
Parent/Child questions can be used to create a relationship between 1 parent question and 1 or more child questions. When a parent question is answered with the correct answer, all of the child questions are answered with the correct answer configured for that question. This only works for Multiple Choice questions with 1 valid static answer.
Parent question: “Are all lights functioning properly?”
Child questions per light
Is the headlight left functioning properly
Is the headlight right functioning properly
Is the taillight left functioning properly
Is the taillight right functioning properly
If the parent question is answered with the correct answer, all child questions are automatically answered with the correct answer. If the parent question is answered with an incorrect answer, each child question needs to be answered individually.
For more information see here.
Data Collect can be configured with a Category OK button, which an operator can press when a category, or question inside a checklist category, is selected to automatically answer all multiple choice questions that have 1 valid static answer.
To enable this function:
Load Form Composer
Open the Main form(s)
Select the Checklist control
Press the Enable Expert Mode button
Expand the Show Buttons menu
Place a tick in the Show - Button - Category OK checkbox.
Save the form.
For more information on the Checklist control see here.
